Home / How we score
The score is a recipe.
Every number on 00freeweb comes from the four inputs below. The weights are public and every change is logged.
- 35%
Uptime
Measured by our own uptime checks once they are running. Until then uptime shows as Not yet. A host's own claim is never used.
- 25%
Support
Customer-reported first response time and whether the problem was solved.
- 20%
Real cost
Renewal price against intro price, plus fees customers report that the sales page left out.
- 20%
Customer reports
How many verified reports exist and how recent they are.
Three stages of a score
- 8.1PUBLIC REVIEWS
Collecting data
Under 10 reports or 14 days of probe data. No score from us. We show uptime once we have measured it, and the average from public reviews, in a dashed badge.
- 7.6PROVISIONAL
Provisional
At least 10 reports and 14 days. We calculate a score, label it Provisional, and rank it below fully scored hosts. It can still move.
- 8.4SCORE
Scored
At least 30 verified reports and 30 days of probe data. This is the full score and it ranks at the top.
Rules we hold ourselves to
- No paid placement.Nobody can buy a rank, a badge or a better position. If revenue is ever added, it is disclosed at the top of every page.
- No full score without evidence.A full score needs at least 30 verified reports and 30 days of probe data. Before that a host is Provisional or Collecting data, and says so everywhere it appears.
- Public reviews stay separate.Reviews from other sites are linked and labeled. For hosts still collecting data we show their public average in a dashed badge. It is never blended into a Provisional or full score.
- Hosts cannot edit reports.A host cannot remove or alter a customer report.
Questions
Why does a host have no score?
It is new to the index and we do not have enough of our own data yet. The page shows how many reports and days it still needs. A public review average appears in a dashed badge for reference only.
How do you stop fake reviews?
Every report must be confirmed by email before it counts, and repeat submissions from one source are rate-limited.
Why do you weight uptime the most?
A site that is down costs more than any price difference. It is also the one input we plan to measure ourselves.
What does "real cost" mean?
The price you pay after the intro term ends, plus any fees customers report adding up. A $3 intro price that renews at $9 scores lower than a flat $5.
Can the weights change?
Yes. When they do, the old and new weights are posted here with the date and the reason.
